چکیده

This study evaluates the performance and emission characteristics of an orange peel biodiesel blended with cashew nut shell liquid. It investigates efficacy liquid in reducing nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions resulting from combustion biodiesel, while optimizing its performance. The was prepared via transesterification. obtained by reacting oil produced through Soxhlet extraction methanol presence NaOH. ratio 70%:30% (B70). Experimental results demonstrate that blending causes a slight decrease NOX emission. B70 generates 150 ppm NOX, B100 diesel produce 159 193 ppm, respectively. hydrocarbon 8% lower than 22.3% diesel. As regards CO CO2 emission, performs better parameters were computed at brake powers 2.5 kW, 5.0 7.5 10 kW. In comparison to B100, has higher thermal efficiency all loads. specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is diesel, but less kW At BSFC Conclusively, gives optimal Hence, good additive.

Emission Performance of a Diesel Engine Running on Biodiesel Fuel at Different Compression Ratios

In the present study emission performance of a diesel engine (Lister Petter) was evaluated at different compression ratios and engine loads with soybean methyl ester and its 25%, 50%, 75% blends with diesel fuel at constant speed 1500 rpm. Exhaust emissions included CO, CO2, HC and NOx. The compression ratio and engine load varied from 14 to 20 with an interval 1 and 25 to...

Performance and Emission Characteristics of a DI Diesel Engine Fuelled with Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL)-Diesel Blends

The increased number of automobiles in recent years has resulted in great demand for fossil fuel. This has led to the development of automobile by using alternative fuels which include gaseous fuels, biofuels and vegetables oils as fuel. Energy from biomass and more specific bio-diesel is one of the opportunities that could cover the future demand of fossil fuel shortage. Biomass in the form of...

The Effects of Ethanol–gasoline Blend on Performance and Exhaust Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engines

The effects of unleaded gasoline and unleaded gasoline–ethanol blends on engine performance and pollutant emissions were investigated experimentally in a single cylinder, four-stroke spark-ignition engine with variable engine speeds (2600–3500 rpm). Four different blends on a volume basis were applied. These are E0 (0% ethanol + 100% unleaded gasoline), E3 (3% ethanol + 97% unleaded gasoline), ...

Effects of Engine Cooling Water Temperature on Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Compression Ignition Engine Operated with Biofuel Blend

The temperature of the coolant is known to have significant influence on engine performance and emissions. Whereas existing literature describes the effects of coolant temperature in engines using fossil derived fuels, very few studies have investigated these effects when biofuel is used. In this study, Jatropha oil was blended separately with ethanol and butanol. It was found that the 80% jatr...
